Stanmer House has probably never experienced such an array of outstanding music in all its history of intimate weddings! It really was an audible delight to hear a professional choir perform all the pre and post-ceremony music (one song was even written by the bride, Nadia!), as well as the infamous Funky Buddha wedding band, hired in for the evening’s entertainment. Fantastic stuff.

Until we get a definite solution (e.g. online license fee) from music licensing bodies here in the UK (e.g. PPL and MCPS), we have decided not to take the risk of being sued (as have other colleagues in the UK, with their own sites).

It’s a sad, sorry state to be honest. Especially when you think we have actual proof that people have purchased music tracks after listening to the great ones we have used in our clips. So in effect, we’re promoting artists and bands in a modern world whereby everything is digital and downloadable at the click of a button.

What we may do is begin to replace our clips with copyright-free music tracks from independent artists and bands…unfortunately though, that’s not a quick and easy process as we often work the emotions in our clips (e.g. with timings of the instrumental parts and crescendoes in the chorus).

Apologies.

Wasing Park is a beautiful venue surrounded by parkland, and with everything you could need to have your perfect day on site:  small church, civil ceremony and reception areas…and one of the biggest honeymoon suites I’ve ever seen!

Nicola and Dan had the perfect day (let’s ignore that sudden downpour of rain!), and I was especially pleased to see they had also hired in my friend, Simon Alexander (a magician), too.  Go check out his site if you want to be dazzled with clever tricks, and you can even check out the promo for his new instructional DVD, which I’ve just recently created for him!

As you can see, they are completely bespoke, very carefully and creatively edited.  But more to the point, I put so much passion into each one to make it a rounded film and edit package (with all the fancy trimmings).

So on behalf of FX Films, FX Media and WedFilm Academy (my training site), thanks to everyone who came to our seminars and thanks to all for a top awards night!

Social Sirens derived from an idea floating around on twitter, whereby money could be raised for charity if some very brave wedding industry girls came forward to do a Calendar Girls-esque photoshoot. A huge backing instantly developed from lingerie companies, UK venues, make-up artists, prop suppliers, hair stylers and more, and in no time at all several photoshoots were scheduled.

This clip is the behind-the-scenes documentary of just one of those photoshoots, and amazingly has been shortlist nominated for ‘Best Documentary Film’ by IOV, and will be awarded at ProVideo 2011. Fingers crossed!

Every element of this wedding was just jaw-droppingly stunning – the location, the venues, the weather, the food, the entertainment…and of course, Nicola and Craig.

In the build-up to their big day, it was such a bonus to be spending time in Ravello, getting to know the place inside out.  And I was honoured to join my friends Mike Garrard, Jodie Chapman and Greg, at a pre-wedding pool-side party with the couple and their guests.

All in all, a truly memorable experience!

If anyone deserved a more perfect day, it’s Philippa and Damien – two of the friendliest, happiest, warmest and generous people I’ve ever had chance to meet.

It was a pleasure to be part of their day, and witness to their humorous and emotional vows, speeches and 1st dance.  Oh, and an extra nice touch that they chose (for their 2nd dance) to use the song track that they first heard on the FX Films main showreel! Good choice

I know they are absolutely dying to watch this clip, so I’m sure they will just scan read this text in order to race to the ‘play’ button!  I hope they like all the quirky moments…which I’d like to list here, but won’t, as it’s probably nicer to watch and discover them first hand!
