As you can see, they are completely bespoke, very carefully and creatively edited.  But more to the point, I put so much passion into each one to make it a rounded film and edit package (with all the fancy trimmings).

The standard of film entries this year was unbelievable, and shows just how far this industry has come in the last few years … which made me feel more privileged than ever to actually stand up there with the other winners, and receive 3 glass awards!

‘Highly Commended’ to FX Films, for Nikki Loy – Can I Keep You?

So on behalf of FX Films, FX Media and WedFilm Academy (my training site), thanks to everyone who came to our seminars and thanks to all for a top awards night!

Social Sirens derived from an idea floating around on twitter, whereby money could be raised for charity if some very brave wedding industry girls came forward to do a Calendar Girls-esque photoshoot. A huge backing instantly developed from lingerie companies, UK venues, make-up artists, prop suppliers, hair stylers and more, and in no time at all several photoshoots were scheduled.

This clip is the behind-the-scenes documentary of just one of those photoshoots, and amazingly has been shortlist nominated for ‘Best Documentary Film’ by IOV, and will be awarded at ProVideo 2011. Fingers crossed!

Nikki is a fantastic, Oxford-based musician, whose vocal chords I first fell in love with at the wedding of Claire and Roberto (she even features in their highlights clip!). I told her there and then that I simply had to make her a music video – and the rest is history

The clips were played in full-HD, from Blu-Ray, and it really was the full cinema experience – all in all, quite surreal!

So now imagine watching your own wedding film at the cinema, with all your family and friends. I’m pleased to say I can make this a possibility for you! Just contact FX Films if you’d like to know more…

Filming at weddings alongside our partner photography team, Lime Leaf Weddings, is always so much fun, especially as I have been into photography (and filming) since I was young enough to even hold a camera!

So when the opportunity arose (via my friend Kat, aka Rock n Roll Bride) to film coverage of a Jasmine Star photography workshop at One Marylebone, London, I jumped at the chance.

No matter what your level, background or history of photography, Jasmine has a great gift for teaching invaluable, honest information that helps to inspire and drive people forward. I’m certain that the entire group of photography trainees walked out at the end, with heads completely buzzing with fresh new ideas and methods.

It was an absolute pleasure to meet Jasmine and her husband, JD, and I can only hope that they find my clip (below) helpful in tempting others to experience a future workshop.

2 corporate case studies we’ve recently been very lucky to be a part of, were producing clips for Car Magazine (ex-Stig, Ben Collins, took 6 supercars out for a spin!), and filming an exclusive Carl Barât (ex-Libertines) gig in London.

And in the same vein as weddings, they were totally memorable and proud moments!

Yesterday, I began filming a music video for my rather talented singer friend, Nikki Loy, and  it suddenly dawned on me that FX Films could actually offer this service to any current or future wedding couples!

Imagine surprising your friends and family with a professionally storyboarded music video (to accompany your favourite song), shot with cinematic cameras, glide equipment and cranes! It was an opportunity to network, socialise and drink with other well respected wedding suppliers, most of whom I already knew via the wonderful world of social networking (twitter/facebook).

While I was there, I did a sly video on my iphone4. It’s obviously a quick clip, because I was too busy nattering and drinking to come up with something epic

We could list 5 years of brilliantly memorable moments, favourite wedding stories, and most emotional edits etc…but we’ll spare you…because we’re too busy eating celebratory cake

The most exciting for me personally, and the most life-changing, is the news that I proposed to my girlfriend Kate. She said ‘Yes’. Phew! It’s funny that the first question people asked (after saying ‘Congrats’) was
‘did you film the reaction?’,
and the second was
‘how are you going to film your own wedding?!’
I won’t go into the details of how I proposed, but I will reveal that it included 70+ roses, a haribo ring, well-planned timing, and a very nervous moi! (n.b. the haribo ring isn’t a permanent fixture!)

Next up, I’ve woken up on this snowy morning, to find out that FX Films has just won the title of ‘Best Wedding Videographer’ in the 2010 Wedding Supplier Awards (‘The Bridal Magazine‘). We’re all utterly chuffed, and v.thankful to everyone that voted. According to The Bridal Magazine, there were 28,000 votes from start to finish.

And to end on a clip, I’ve just completed a mini-promo for ‘The Trained Eye‘ (a photography training company who run courses and academys). It’s short and sweet, and contains footage I’ve shot on separate days, and includes vox-pop testimonials from a couple of their successful students:
