Shakela and Russell: Pendley Manor, Near Tring, Hertfordshire
We cannot tell you how hard this day was to keep a secret.
We had known for a long time that Shakela and Russell were keeping the Caribbean-day/night-theme a secret from all their guests! And WOW, did they pull it off!
What a vision, and what a reaction! Every detail from palm trees, to coloured lighting, to steel drums … and even the band were in shorts! And remember this was a snowy winter wedding!
The whole day was an absolute blast, and we were so thrilled to be a part of it. And this was only heightened by working alongside such professionals as Zoe Cooper (photographer), and my good friend Mark Cairns (mind-reader/magician).

Lisa and Mark showed exactly how to have a xmas/winter wedding!
The day included a backdrop of snow and white sky, a roaring log fire, and free-flowing mulled wine … and even Santa popped by to give presents out to all the kids. Infact, during the speeches, almost every adult received one too!!

We’re rather excited to tell you that our excellent partner photography team, Lime Leaf Weddings, are also offering 1-to-1 training to assist other photographers, or wannabe-photographers.
Like us with our own training, it is bespoke and paced to suit the individual/s. Covering many areas, and from basic to advanced level:
Justin is the only person I’ve ever met who admires film scores as much as me! And so without doubt, this clip really had to be accompanied by a moving cinematic score…which I think you will agree, matches the lovely couple and stunning venue.
And no-one will forget that almost moving movement as the weather changed from heavy downpour to brilliant sunshine, seconds after the couple took their vows. Like in the movies
Congratulations Sarah and Justin! And lovely to meet your photographers too, Guy Hearn and James Davidson.

You’ve watched the film, you’ve viewed the photos… but what else could complement your wedding day memories?
A Simplicity Wedding Poster of course! ‘Simplicity‘ = Cinematography + Photography
Our partner photography team, Lime Leaf Weddings, will hand us your chosen high-resolution photo, and we at FX Films will do the designing and professional printing required to turn it into a double-coated matt paper poster, in whichever size you can handle! (A3, A2, A1). Contact us for prices.
Anyone who’s ever met us at a wedding knows we have absolute respect for all photographers. For a start, we’ve all been chosen by the same wedding couple, and also we just love photography in general! Hence our great working relationship with Lime Leaf Weddings.
I love my new Canon 7D dSLR camera. I’ve even found I can use my knowledge of colour grading from the wedding edits I do, to achieve some nice looks.
I hope my first SLR attempts look ok to you … be nice ok
Since my last couple of blog entries, where Nick and Fiona featured in an ‘audio comparison’ clip and ‘colour-grading’ write-up, I’ve had emails from around the world saying how beautiful Fiona is, and how lucky Nick is to have married her. ;) So back by popular demand, here’s the lovely couple once more!
The song is extremely fitting, as Cara Dillon is an Irish folk singer. It connects with the irish accents from the wedding itself, and with that swan you see in the clip … you’ll see what I mean
And just check out the biggest-real-mistletoe-bush-on-a-ceiling ever! (7 seconds in)

Just a quick reminder (to fellow videographers and photographers) that I will be giving seminars each day from the 15th-17th January, representing FX Films and Canon at the SWPP Convention 2010, Hammersmith.
Here’s the flyer for it, which might I add, has all it’s photos from our very own partner photography company, Lime Leaf Weddings!
We truly have an amazing and exclusive partnership with Lime Leaf Weddings, working on weddings together with our combined ‘Simplicity‘ package (Cinematography + Photography).
Here’s a random few recent images from them, that i’ve personally handpicked from their galleries, showing their unobtrusive and artistic (almost cinematic!) style:
**and if that’s not enough to whet your appetite, i’ve just added some images to my recent post on Krista and Robin’s ‘Simplicity’ wedding, click here**
